Ok, so I'm building my first Dirt track motor from scratch.. I have a technical question about piston specs. Why can't you buy pistons that are all the same diameter without spending $1,000.00 plus?? Bought a set of .060 over hypereutectic pistons.. have variance from 4.0597 to 4.0573!! This is garbage.. found a set of forged weisco pistons.. same variations except even wider. I want to build a race motor with identical diameter pistons. Is this not normal? I know machine shops hone to the piston normally for builds but not understanding how you buy precision machined performance pistons with this variations. Like they are doing it on purpose.. it's harder to not cnc machine parts the same!
