Per USRA b-mod rules, I wired in the soft touch rev control to my DUI HEI using the provided scotch lock connectors. Before wiring this in, I have never had any ignition issues whatsoever.
Ran my heat race on Friday night with no issues, engine revved up to about 7200 lap after lap. In my feature, ran two laps just fine and then issues started. When I would stand on it in the corner, it would take off as expected sometimes for one second and then shut off (just like I flipped the switch), and then pick back up for a second, and then shut off, all the way down the straight. Fuel pressure stayed constant.
It seemed like the problems only occurred over 5500-6000 rpm (running around the track at a moderate pace, it would run all night long).
Just looking for suggestions. My first thought is to get rid of the scotch locks and solder all the connections and heat shrink. I think I may have cut through one of the distributor wires, but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
Any input is appreciated!

That's a good start! Examine to see if that's the case! A tach has given us hell before! Be running fine pull up a kill it and never hit or would just try until unplugged!

If it still does this after verifying that all connections/wiring is solid, I'd unplug the tach and see if it still does it. I have heard of simply having a tach hooked up causing this kind of symptom, but I don't know the fix for it (other than just leaving it unhooked).

Had same type of issue, it was the 2 pin connector to the MSD distributor that was bad. Replaced it with a weather pack type connector and never had a problem again. It sounds like a connector problem for sure.

Hope you got it fixed and let us know the cure! Volume and pressure are two different things as to a restriction at the carb! I don't know soft! My home built HEI dist. jumps 1.6 inches at the pins with no ground even there! I just jet it way up and burn it all after applying more lead LLR to handle the added horses! If and when you get to much rear percent and have trouble pulling both front wheels just gear it higher and put the torque to good use in a faster forward motion! If it can't lift it has to move something else!
