My car stumbles when coming out of corners. I've had problem all season I run a holly 4412 carb that according to people "in the know" is working perfectly. Halfway through season had a metering block installed on carb seemed like it didn't change things. Install a cooling can and also run gas that is about 40 degrees F. when race starts. pickup in tank has been changed, run 3/8 fuel line have insulated fuel lines, fuel pump has been changed. Really irritating anyone have ideas. I drive it into corner left off gas suddenly and get back into gas about halfway then it stumbles, stumbles meaning it hesitates that kicks in hesitates kicks in several times picks up when im straight again don't know if that means anything, Being straight again I mean. PLEASE HELP!! I had this problem with another carb earlier in season but will try another one this weekend.

We had a lot of tank pick-up problems with cracked hoses or steel tubing getting cracked, loose, or fittings! A racing float if not in place or float levels! Is it loading up or poping??? Timing too low for fuel can load it too! A bad power-valve or just wrong per vacuum or jetting! I never run a power valve! Timing increase if not getting to 38 max! Read the plugs! See if its all or few threads with oil! The inside should always be white!

What power valve is in the carb? And do you know your fuel pressure? Could be fuel pump related since happening under load.

What pit crew said. Also we had a problem a lot like that and the vent holes behind the squirters were stopped up.

I've been fighting a similar problem. And mine just kept getting worse. After replacing the carb and the ignition system, I decided to pull the motor and start from the gound up. As soon as I pulled the timing chain cover, I knew I had found a problem (I wont call it "the problem" until I get to test it on the track). The timing chain had stretched so much that it retarded the cam 3.5 degrees.

Thanks guys you were a great help> I found two problems, 1 the pick up in the tank is cut diagonally and was up against bottom of tank when under load the pickup got suck againt tank cutting off fuel. After fixing that was still stumbling coming out of corner changed carb. and came in second was on the leaders tail.

Since we cleaned the vent holes, replaced the timing chain, there were pieces of timing chain on the drain plug magnet, replace the dist. gear, it was worn bad, have started 10th and finished 3rd up beside the 2nd place car's door, and started 4th the next week and won by a straightaway.
