Wondering if a soft front spring set with a big sway bar would be more effective on the slick smooth tracks we run on theses days?

Tell us what problems you have now and we might be able to find what is going a muck! I never had to much success with sway bars balancing out my springs and sending pounds rampantly when trying to hold pre-set limits! Adjustable end-links with one floating with a few extra biscuits can get one useable but a spring split with correct poundage with preloads should be easier controlled unless just out of range of usage!

Tell us your needs!!! Some times things are more simple than most seem to think! Springs per weight and splits to transfer by other means than a forced movement by the un-natural change of the throttle can smooth things a bit!

It's not really a problem. I'm just thinking out of the box for my next project. I've run parrallel torsion bars with a sway bar on a late model years ago and it worked really well, especially on tight slick tracks. I used the sway bar to carry the left front once the weight transferred to the right rear. Seemed to give me better drive off the corner, so I was thinking about trying to apply it to a coil over system. Any thoughts?

YEP-- It brings a smile to the fact that its just adds more spring tension that was lacking elsewhere! I prefer keeping all wheels on the ground and preloaded to control traction to the rears while giving drivability to the front! I use 200 split up front and only 25 rear to achieve this balance on most cars! Then rule out everything that over powers the load but I use it to transfer more pounds rather than lifting the chassis off the springs! I have found it to get the job done with out moving anything but forward! Getting the right drive off the corner with the right bar angles being just ahead of the left with a two degree advantage and evening out when rolled is a bit old school but never failed to win for us even first night out with new chassis and mid season! Hard not to be dead set on sharing it but most just don't see it the way I do! Those converted love it and enjoy passing for a change with its drivability and constant traction! Its just a natural use of what is going to happen anyhow and the only fighting factor is the caster twisting the frame in the opposite direction--- no wait -- even that to is natural except for having to lift the ft. corners to send pounds and steer headed in the control of rear steer factors! The pull bar is used for traction and lets the rest do the dictating of traction wheel to wheel by steering wheel control! When rolled over it all is at a leveled out position! This is how it works so well! If you see how one thing robs another in most set-ups you might understand why I do it this way! So many ways things are lost in the movement of extremes these days! They mostly do it all the same way and follow the leader! No-one ever believed me when I tried to explain us winning so much! They would rather believe we cheated somehow! Sometimes two seconds a lap faster is hard to explain and harder believe anyone would share how its done! Easy if no-one takes you serious! I am getting older and have no need to hold it back but now it seems over the hill but some put it to good use and started winning right away this year! It still wins, so here I am old school with lost Ancient secrets of dirt racing! A lot of knowledge in 35 years of winning but never ran late models! 7 years with 2 mods, two and three nights a week in four states was an education in its self! So many designs to convert to perfection, most had their flaws and were very needy! However my set-up never failed after trying the rest! I set up one crate late and it handled great! It was a full late frame! Geometry is easy with limited movement to keep it in check! I enjoy finding ways to still kick ass the old school way today! I never drove but handled the rest with ease! Helped so many to win through the years with what they had but always after changing it all! Most had plenty of springs and shock choices after trying so hard! A quick retune of cams, gears, jets and logic and to the front they went! Hard to give it away today! It needs a big price tag to be of value today! Just another biscuit is how I see a sway bar! A bit of cushion with more movement to handle too much travel! As long as it helps it gives clues to the needs of the chassis! Most right rears are quite needy when running too much left rear in some other ways! Hope to be of some help in the future theory of faster!
