For what ever reasons our track is going to mandatory turbo 350 trans for 2016 season, doing away with power glides and standards. Is there anyway to improve these trans so they will be fast and last? We run 1/3 mile clay oval in the street stock class cars with either 602 or built motors, mine is a 358, the track is semi flat with slight banks and I run a metric and it has to be 3000 lbs.

I have built a few as we ran them in low gear on 3 different cars on 1/4 mile dirt and concrete with the same car as yours! It surprised me how well they preformed! If there was things to leave out I did but there may be more after market parts now! Gear ratios would be the thing as to limitations and RPMS desired, size and stall converters, larger coolers!!! If running second gear you may want it to shift to low manually on the starts! and a shift kit or just leave 1/2 the springs out of the second but not low gear pack for a firm shift! Stock rears or 9 inch? What gear are you on now total and max RPMS?

For this year I still have my power glide in and running 3.73 gears in the back and as of now I am at 6600 rpm.

If rules allows more RPMs you need some! Figure the difference in trany gears and see what you come up with! Sounds like you were close but low on power to carry it on up there! You may be changing the rears to get a match again!!!
