Winning doesn't help much when counting cost most of the time! Wrecks can get in your pocket quickly! When helping a friend with his super stock and running Friday and Saturday nights on 4 local tracks, we managed to stay ahead with his existing car we took 3 years to build! They kept changing rules before we were threw! I have helped people with 10k in a 4 cylinder motor and couldn't win! We ran out of tracks and were ban from coming back! Distance of hauls and the price of fuels now is more than racing the car if winning! Building a engine design to run on pump gas helps the pocket greatly! 100-300 on a good night! 500-1500 for long hauls! You don't need to make every race to have and enjoy a race car! Not driving, my fun is in the shop and giving skills to the younger guys who need it most! Always something happening and always fun! Cost effective? Is any sport now days? A great night out cost about the same once there at the track!
