Have a sbc last race using oil pretty quick, I imagen most people would suspect rings, correct? Pulled spark plugs covered in oil up to the seat, and I can see where it's staring to stick to the strap. Ran a compression test the right side(the side letting the smoke out) all four cylinders read 225psi, other side about the same with a couple a 230 and 235psi. Am I right in thinking the extra oil in the cylinders sealing the rings for the compression test? Has me scratching my head. Any opinions would be great, thanks

In take sucking in oil or lack of drainage if on the right side! I always run oil restrictors to prevent such things in the back of the block as we never use valve seals! Oil ring are what wipes the oil on and off! If block was egged or too ruff honed it can wear them out fast! Not likely, but if ran too hot and collapsed the oil rings go first! If file fitted too tight and heated too much before break-in wear added clearance, not likely on only one side! Oil flooding the guides or intake alignment on that side! Oil restrictors If you can get the two gallery plugs out! If running them you may have a damaged O-ring! We have lost a few before! Angle cut or shaved heads or intake angles can be off! I have ran slotted holes and three gaskets, two on one side to correct a mishap! Prefer solid gaskets to stock or o-ring seals on the gaskets! One flat and one stock if flat one is on the bottom if needed! Lots of different gaskets offered for 350s! Tightening sequence most important! Middle out on both sides the same time evenly to keep it centered by only one persons feel! Gluing gaskets in place on the block with glue and not silicone to hold alignment! Give them time to dry in place with bolts with a nut used to shorten bolt length and a flat washer for support until dry! Some intakes need drilling to work and others may have been too much to hold alignment on a new engine! Check for bottoming out ft or rear on the block if cut or wedged before if heads machined or cut! Close and thin sealing surface if porting was done! Good luck with your drainage problem to be a simple fix! Motor angle may help if too flat! Crank it up with the cover off to see it squirting, messy but a notable lead to a fix! This should at least tell you where else to look if not flooding! Make sure the carb is not washing it down on that side! Not running a pcv on that side that is sucking oil into the carb or intake! Not a oil leak on the header tube! Hope some of this is helpful!

Block is set up with restrictions, I pretty sure it's getting tired, thinking back it's had 3 season on it, just didn't seem like that long, lol.
