i am having problems getting my tires to hook up and stay hooked up and a friend told me to fill the rear end houseing and tubes with lead. im wondering if this will help my problem without affecting the way it handles through the corner. thanks for looking

Adding rear weight will help plant the tires to a point. Not sure what you mean by "filling the rear end housing with lead" I just put gear oil in mine, LOL. I dont know what tires you run or tire rules you have, but the tires will have a very big effect, even just lightly grinding stock tires will help. You could also look into replacing your stock bushings with the soft bushings. I ran some soft ones in my upper arms to help with the shock of the tires under acceleration. Medieval Chassis sells some you might check out. I ran the monoball bushings in the lower arms but your rules may not allow that.

The only problem I see with that it your adding unsprung weight. Depending on your track rules and type of car. I'm guessing its a metric rear four link. If so the best place to add lead would be directly above the upper control arm to the left of the centerline. Also grinding your tires should be a weekly ritual. You'll notice as your tires wear you'll actually gain traction. Softening it another option wich helps a lot.youll want to grind opposite of the direction the track will see it(right rear, from left to right) as to make your edges of the tread sharp again.hope this helps, more info like spring rates and type of tires, also if you can add lead would help us help you.

Might look into your setup too. If you transfer weight back as you accelerate or not. I have had more success getting tires to hookup by doing that than I ever had playing with tires or tire pressures.
