I have a generalized question regarding USRA and different tracks.
I travel a bit when we run our B mod, and it seems that regardless of what USRA track we show up at, each of these USRA Sanctioned tracks have their own set of rules that differ from USRA.
I don't have an issue with that at all, but Ive also been in situations where even tho I may be USRA legal, a track may have its own set of rules that make me illegal at their specific track.
If im USRA legal, should I be able to run anyway?
Just a general question since our forum is slow. =)

I say yes.
I have no idea what USRA says. lol
Correction:
ARTICLE 2: GENERAL RULES 2.1 USRA rules shall apply at all events. All participants are subject to the rules of the USRA and are expected to know the rules. An expressed ignorance of USRA rules by any participant will not be recognized as a valid argument for failure to comply with USRA rules. Some tracks may have amendments, additions or other adjustments to the rules for a particular class. Promoters must make these differences clear, in writing, posted online and available to drivers at all times. Drivers should verify rules packages with sanctioned track prior to competing at an unfamiliar venue.
Complete crap if you ask me. Two sets of rules all racing for the the same Championship? It doesn't state if said rule changes need approval by USRA

This is probably the best part of IMCA. Same rules whereever you go. Makes it much easier to travel from track to track.

I think tracks coming into USRA are giving their drivers time to make changes to comply slowly to USRA rules, and I get that.
I just think if its USRA legal, I should be able to show up and NOT have to change something that is USRA legal simply because they don't allow it in their rules.

I don't think you can do both well. The only way to be 100% fair to everyone is to do what's necessary to ensure everyone competing is within the rules at race time. However this kind of scrutiny is very hard on tracks and drivers wallets(I've always been an advocate for consistency) so perhaps the best compromise is a two week allowance to comply. However, I don't think you should be allowed to race whatever ya brung that night. The chassis are basically the same(UMP, IMCA, USRA), without a huge advantage in suspension types that couldn't be over come. Maybe a hefty weight penalty or something for engines and shocks. Again this only works for tracks that actually follow procedures and protocols.

If it takes 2hours to tech your car and 15 min. on all others total, It does seem unfair when not winning sometimes!
