Looking for some advice on setting up a metric car. The track is 1/3 mile low banking dry slick. It’s got a fresh 602 crate, 3.73 gear with a 6,200rpm chip. When the track is tacky in hot laps and heat races it will bounce off the limiter once or twice at the end of the straight but not too bad and that’s what the engine builder suggested. Springs- LF800/RF900/LR200/RR175. There is a spring spacer in the RF making it likely closer to 1000?. Last known corner weights are LF876/RF722/LR840/RR695 just shy of 3150lb which is minimum weight. Rules are max 55 left weight and 49 rear. 145lb of bite. We have made some small changes since then but that’s very close. About 50% cross right now. Ride height is 8” all around except RR is at 8.5”. Shocks- LF3/5, RF5/5, LR6/6, RR7/4. Rules are any spring that’s 5.5” factory size and I think the track has the right to buy your shocks for $150 each. I think the stagger is 2” front and rear (this is my brothers car). The car is very tight on entry (getting better with the changes we’re making) and very loose on exit. I have very little knowledge but I suggested tightening the car to 52 cross and adding stagger to get into the turns.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Only try one change at a time! I would definitely not be any more than 53% left weight. When the track goes slick swap the front shocks. You need to get over onto the rf spring quicker. Put a 3/3 or 4/4 on the rr. No more than a 1/2" to 3/4" stagger in the front. If it's still tight on entry try a 1/2" spacer on the left rear. If it's tight still try a 225 lb spring in the lr. Actually rereading your post, I would swap the front shocks for all conditions. You're probably 100# light on the front springs at least. Probably a 1/2" high on the front ride heights.
I would also measure the rollout of the tires. Not sure what tires you run, but I put the biggest on the rf. Measure all of them at the rf pressure and put the biggest on the rf. Then measure the remaining at rr pressure and then put the largest remaining on the rr. Then do the lr then the rf.

Thank you for the reply! We will keep these in mind for sure. Wouldn’t less front stagger make entry tighter? One of the other things I was curious of is what cross/left/rear weights would be ideal with the 49% rear weight rule. Do you want them closer to matched? Or would 53ish left weight, 50ish cross and 49 rear be ok? Tires are Hoosier 26.5 lefts and 27.5 rights Only try one change at a time! I would definitely not be any more than 53% left weight. Sorry about my last post. I was reading tight in, but thinking loose in. My bad. Most of what I wrote will tighten you up. Try swapping the front shocks and maybe pulling the rf in. Or lower the front air pressure a little.

We’ve tried messing with pressures and it didn’t make much difference. I ran it a couple weeks ago and did alright, won the B main and held position in the feature but had to enter the corners very aggressively and scrub my speed. It doesn’t like entering the turn any other way. I was at LF 12psi, RF 15psi, RR 12psi and LR 10psi. Before the high stagger, it just would not enter at all. Once the track slicks off, the slightest touch of the throttle at the wrong time will loop the car around. I’ve read you work on entry first then work on exit but it’s so loose out I think we need the raise the cross first. Also, do you think there is too much weight on the LF? I’ve been waiting for the track to upload videos but it looks like they aren’t. In any footage we have, you can see the car lose traction mid turn and the left side of the car drops. I’m my heat race I came in pretty hot and stayed off throttle and the car just kept rotating until I was facing the infield on exit. Any easier on entry and I would have had to use brakes just to hold the bottom. What you said about swapping front shocks to transfer weight to that RF sooner makes sense because the car doesn’t rotate until that weight gets over but it just seems to be too late. Here’s a link to my Bmain win. You can see how squirrelly the car is lol. Disregard my drunk brother haha. Be gentle, this was my first race in any car on any track lol. www.facebook.com/ace.downer/videos/519924613276992/ Sorry about my last post. I was reading tight in, but thinking loose in. My bad. Again, I drive a big A body. They like less spring in the front. And I'm running a 1000rf and 900lf. Going to 1100rf/1000lf for next season. Our track is 1/4 mile medium bank and the metrics here are running 12-1300# rf springs. When the track slicks off, you can try a 1/2" or even 1" spacer in the left rear. The car looked good on entry from what I could tell. You have to make sure you get back on the throttle easy coming off in the slick. It's a fine line. You can drop the rear pressures another 2 lbs when it gets slick too.
