I have been having trouble lately with my mechanical fuel pumps leaking oil around the body where the screws are that you can take out to rotate the head. I have tried different brands from holly to eldenbrook and still having issue. Is there a way to keep this from happening or to fix the pumps I have? Thanks for any and all help.

I would be looking for a different leak putting the oil there! corner pan, the front block mounting holes need to be sealed and plugged with very short bolts, Fuel plates are bad to leak and require a doped gasket and centered well as to not leak! Over tightening can ruin the gaskets! Mounting bolts need to be doped and length checked as well! I have had blocks that required 3 gaskets! A lot of aftermarket pumps are made to fit both sb and BB Chevys and some instructions say to shim with extra gaskets or provide a shim (thicker or two) to cure the ills of design in fitting both! Chrome plates can have cracks and check for flatness if it came off of a blown engine! Check inside drainage and pump push rod for clearance or flop allowing to much draining in!
