I have been having trouble lately with my mechanical fuel pumps leaking oil around the body where the screws are that you can take out to rotate the head. I have tried different brands from holly to eldenbrook and still having issue. Is there a way to keep this from happening or to fix the pumps I have? Thanks for any and all help.

I'm having a hard time thinking of what exactly your trying to explain. But here's what I have seen before. There is a accessory hole on the front of the block that can leak if not plugged with silicon and short bolt. Another is the plate that the fuel pump attaches to and of corse the pump seal itself. I usually will silicone all of the mounting locations of the pump not with a lot, but enough. I hope this is what your talking about. This it mostly why they leak from not proper sealing

Thanks but this is leaking from the pump body itself. It's the kind of pump you can rotate the bottom to clock the fittings where you need them. It is leaking around those screws that hold the body together. Thanks

try snuging them up just a little if that dont work get a new gasket if that dont work then you have a bad vibration or its hittn the cross member or somthing.

I would be looking at ft mounting block holes that must be pluged, corner gaskets, and plate gaskets as to other leaks as well as shimming and bolts bottoming out!

Around the bolt? Try a little RTV on the threads, fuel has a way of 'wicking out of the threads.
