It's a straight rail sportsman , Howe shocks , quick change ...don't really know a lot about it . i do know I need to get the ride heights up or I'm gonna rip the nose off 1st lap. It's a bumpy 3/8 mile track that dries out and you can lay rubber by the of the night. Looking for a base set up , spring rates and size of springs etc . I don't own scales , so, could it could be a while to get those numbers . Any info would be awesome . Thanks a lot Attachments:

Hi...I'm not really worried about set up yet, just need to get the body up so I don't tear it off 1st lap. Do I crank all the jacking bolts? Taller springs all around ? What are some of the basics I could do . I wanna learn a lot , but little ata time. Let me know what measurements or pics and I will get them. Thanks

Lee, you can put a bunch of turns in the jack screws to raise the front. Taller springs will raise the rear. When you raise the car, the shock mounts may need to be lowered. The LR rear shock it is mounted too high and will top out if the car starts to roll over very much. Don't forget to take out the windshield.

Im gona say 8" from ground to center of inner pivot bolt on lower A arm should get the front end close. Like confused said, watch the shock travel. Is that the right offset wheel on the LR? Dont know how that doest rub? You are gonna want that RF our as far as you can get it and the RR in as far as you can get it. Loose the front sway bar! Lets see a Pick of the rear suspension from behind. What side is the Pan Hard Bar hooked to? Why do you have to make it so hard on yourself Lee? Cant we just start with a Dirt car and race it on dirt?

No 175 and 200 would be a good starting point. I wouldnt waist to much time on it. Your just gonna put it in the wall anyway! Go Pens!

How will I know if the rear of the car is too low? 13" springs average or should I put 15" in ?

We will set the bar angles and that is where it will be. 13 is fine.

OK, Loose the brake cooling ducts, Set that RF lower so the center of the lower ball joint ball is 1/4 " higher than the center of the inner pivot bolt. Set the LF level. Take the anti dive out of the RF arm.
Dave.
