I am not a minstock guy at ALL, but I would like to get my son started in something that won't cost me an arm and a leg...what kind of car would be the best to start him out in?

I starter my son 3 years ago in a Street stock. I didn't want him to learn bad habits in a mini stock. Street stocks can cost bucks but you can compete in a pure stock class and be competitive on the cheep. Just my .02

I agree...it would be cheaper to have a factory stock than any.

Rear wheel drive mini stock is a good inexpensive way to go. Parts are cheap and also readily available at local parts stores and when you build an engine you only have to buy half the parts you would on a v8 car. No bad habits to gain from this class, just learning to drive and setting up the car just like any other rear wheel drive class of cars.

Yea i am 15 and i am looking to get started in Mini stock to learn a little. I have grown up around racing and my boss drives a midwest mod. He wants me to get a mini stock so we have two different types of cars in our little group so we can learn more about different cars. I AM TRYING TO FIND A DECENT STARTER CAR FOR UNDER $1000. just to get me started and i won't have to put a lot of work into right away. If you know somewhere i could look at one let me know.. PLEASE... and NEAR ND
