Ok, our pressure plate collapsed in our pure stock during last race of the season. I am in search of a new clutch pressure plate and flywheel. Any advice on what is light weight, reliable and not too over priced. Rules state that it must be a steel flywheel, minimum 10" in diameter. Thanks in advance.

I bought a 10 1/2" light weight flywheel (15 lbs) new on Ebay for less than $100. The disc for it was another $100 and I used a Zoom pressure plate. I won a lot of races with that set up. I started out using the Zoom disc that came with the pressure plate, but the springs were hitting the bolts that hold the flywheel to the crankshaft. The company I bought my flywheel and disc from no longer sells them. Worst case senario, you can get the flywheel ($150), disc ($100), and pressure plate ($100) from Speedway Motors.

While not cheep as most horsepower related items are not, a 10,000 RPM clutch is the most for your money! A hydraulic set-up is a must to get it right! It has to be shimmed and checked often at those prices, but the extra horses is well worth the effort!
