So USRA rules were just released a few days ago and I have a couple of questions/thoughts. The biggest changes are that they are going with a solid pullbar and taking the spoiler away.
As far as the rear suspension, it appears it will be very close to an IMCA sportmod with the biggest exception being that you can run your springs anywhere you want except on a swingarm. With the axle wrap-up out of the equation with a solid pullbar, would it really be much of an advantage to run the springs ahead of the housing?
Just seeking opinions. I'm thinking of just putting the springs on top of the housing so I can run some IMCA shows if I wanted to.

Even though you don't have the extra axle wrap from the pullbar, I still think there is a benefit to running your left side spring in front of the rear end.

The rearend will still "wrap up" some with a solid pull bar. It has to do with the different length lower bars and the longer pull bar. The bars angles play into it as well. When the car raises, rearend drops, the top of the rearend is pushed backwards while the lower mounts are being pulled forward. This would cause the lr toroll into the spring, if it were mounted in front of the axle tube.
In short, I believe it matters.

Yes as long as you can get in it will help off if compressed enough! Drop doesn't help to load left rear going in to help turn but does help plant the right only to have the transfer getting back on the gas that may cause a push! They do have there ills in locations and angle changes! Indexing will help with stronger spring if needed to hold cross going in!
