I am currently converting my car to weight jacks and outboard shocks, I was wondering about shock placement, would it hurt to run the shock outside the a frame, behind the a frame??

I had my shocks mounted in front of the A frame on the RF, due to clearance issues with the short upper A arm I was using. You can mount the LF inside the A because that arm is generally moving down and clearance isnt as much of an issue. I just did the same thing to my modified for the same reason.

I am using the standard imca tubular uppers and if I mount them in front of the a frame they are at a pretty good angle to clear the upper a frame. My motor is in stock location and I have schoenfeld 107 headers that exits out mid fender and the header is right over the weight jack and that eliminates putting the shock there, If I put the shock behind the a frame I can get the shock more strait up, but I am new to outboard shocks and didn't know if that would work

I think if you mount it behind the A, you are going to have clearance issues with the brake caliper? Space the bottom mount off the front side of the A arm to decrease the angle in the shock. A little forward angle wont be the end of the world, if thats the only way you can mount it.
