Taller free height and softer rate? Two spring with different heights and the same rate will compress the same. It does not matter that one is taller than the other. Manufactures of the springs can change the wire size and active number of coils to alter the coilbind length though. Is that what you are referring too?

Upper location can change the roll and be tighter on the right so best used on lt. rear as not to get off the working range if compressed enough to start with! Rt side can slow the roll starting as to leverage to roll center.
