I have used some of these old Bart wheels, they are hard as a rock.....some of the Aero wheels are much more forgiving....what is your take?

I have always used Bassett, Light but you can still work the lips after some battle damage. The centers were strong, didn't bend many centers.

If you hit something or someone, every wheels lip is going to bend, and if you hit hard enough the center will bend. You can get a wheel that is too light that bends just looking at it. You don't want a super heavy wheel for obvious reasons. I'm just saying I like the Bassett wheel. Good compromise in my opinion.

I've bent the lips on Aero wheels just trying to get a tire on or off of them.

We prefer Bassetts over Aeros as they are easier to mount and dismount and have never rolled one off. Hard to find a dealer close enough to drive and get so dont have to pay freight on them. We have bent some really bad on the outside but when we put on wheel grinder stand the inside lip turns true so center isn't bent.
