Scaled car tonight with driver in and 8gal. fuel . setup ready to race. 2600# R.F.=574 L.F.=623 R.R.=674 L.R.=730 Left=52% Rear=54% Cross=50.15% Bite=56# Run with 2600# minimum weight so will have to add some lead somewhere?? Thinking L.F. might be to heavy?? Rear % to high?? Cross not high enough?? I am open to Constructive (tending to build, improve, or advance; resulting in positive conclusions) Criticism (the art of making informed and discriminating judgments). L.O.L. sorry I just had to do that so I could use my Learn a word a day from Readers Digest. THANKs, Steve B.T.W., Thank you CONFUSED for rear suspension help. It all went together with no problems. Can't wait to try it out. setup this way now, R.R,bar=5* L.R.bar=12* Top link=18* Jbar=even on pinion, level with axle tube on frame L.R.=3/8" lead R.R.=3/8"trail. any thoughts?

Left side percent looks low to me if that is with driver. We normally run 51.5 to 52 without driver. I would add more bite also.

I am a big believer in bite, we run 300 pounds. I believe that when a car enters the corner and the car slows weight transfers to the front and then to the right. Both of these things reduce the load on the left rear tire, also if your car has bars then the car is normally coming down off the bars which also reduces load on the left rear. All these reasons are why I am a big believer in bite. I also think a car with more bite will have a natural tendency to be more balanced in the turns.

You're welcome. The second set of numbers look like a good starting point. Can you move the 30# chunk back about another foot. This will increase the rear a little. Try not to move it sideways, if you can.
Also, how much fuel did you have in the cell/ I always set my car up with the same amount as after the feature. Never scale them full of fuel. And DON'T use the fuel as ballast. Meaning, if you only need 10 gallons for the night, don't use a 32 gallon cell full of fuel.

I have to change my toplink frame mount because of rookie mistake so I will figure out how to move lead then. I have 12 gallon fuel cell. I start the night with about 8 gallons and burn about 5 gallons so I will rescale with 3 gallons. Now the rookie mistakes----- After last scale session I forgot to remeasure ride heights. They ended up about 1/2" taller then I posted above. Also I had bisket bar in top hole on rearend mount (where the shock goes if you run one,I don't) so when I moved it down to top hole, which is 10-3/4 above axle center line where its suppose to be I lost half my angle. So I need to fab frame mount so its lower. Hey, live and learn, that's half the fun,Right ?

If stuck in the mud and need traction would you rater I set in the cab or on the back bumper? 61-63 rear will get the horses to the ground! Also in relation to extra weight, can you tell if a 200 lb person is riding with you in your truck that weights X amount with X horses, and X gears compared to the weight, horses, and gears of your race car? A spoiler is a terrible load of air to considered compared to a hand out the window at 60 mph! While a slick track can make good use of its traction a tacky one may need less! It pays to consider the affects of air verses weight with no wind resistance on your car!
