I race a 2.5L V6 front wheel drive in the Ucar class. I am having a problem bouncing around the corners. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can keep the rear end of my car on the track? I've tried running different lines through the corners but nothing seems to help. Thanks, Daniel

What air pressure are you running in the rear tires? I ran a fwd car my first year and never had that problem but I heard talk of racers running really high pressure in the rear to get it to bounce the rear end out in the turns. Are there any rules?

I usually run 35 to 40 in the rear. The Ucar class is a stock class. No modifications to the motor, steering, or suspension, the car is basically stock. We have to run street DOT tires, I have (195 65 15). The track is 4/10 banked clay oval.

If the car is too stiff to roll in the rear and steer, it may do this! Also try toeing the front in out 3/8 in. out to help it steer correctly while rolled over! These two things are most important in front wheel drive racing! If you need more rear steer, raise the rear to change steering rate!

Check it for a bent shaft on your rr strut.Something in the rr is binding and causing the the tire to act as the suspension.

Thanks for the info. I just replaced the rear struts for the upcoming racing season. Hopefully this will help.

If any adjustment on the top of ft struts, move them rearwards by notching and cover by washers to look factory! lower adjust forward to roll right steering left and if that is not enough press bend close to the very top a little And time them to center to face inward on both sides! Any way you can get any at all! Even slotting lower a arms and welding thick washers to hold new locations forwards! Every little bit counts as you will see!

Set up the cars opposite the way a rear wheel drive is set up. Right rear to left front cross. No front sway bar, BUT use the rear. When you lift the left rear tire you are close. stretch the right side wheel base.
