I purchased a IMCA Southern Sport Mod late last year and have lost contact with the builder. I originally didn't think it was manufactured for racing, but instead a homeade chassis. After further inspection, it's very professional grade, good design, good welds, etc. So how do I tell which chassis I have? Thanks in advance!

They all use the same metric frame and utilize the same parts! Up to increase rate of steer and lean for open or close on the rear! Best leaned left to get it to straighten up of the corner. 1" ft and 1/2-3/4 on the rear. I generally look at the tie rods to set ft ride heights so they are level when rolled over! This will help toe out in the turns! Check your upper ball joints for having slots to allow for the extra swing as not to bind up in the corners!

What area of the country are you in JJack? Alot of builders will help you regardless of brand if you also spend money with them when you need parts/repairs.
Can you get some pics up on the site for these guys here to look at? There are alot of good minds on this site, and some of these guys can ID these chassis just from a quick peek at them.

I do have aquestion. What is the difference in something "manufactured for racing" and a "home made chassis"? Aren't they both built for racing within a certain set of rules? Not everybody builds chassis for a living. Some do it for the enjoyment of beating the big name builders.

Manufacturer meaning comes from a company whose primary business is manufacturing racing chassis'. I'll get some pics up soon.

We have ran a lot of HOT Chassis cars and this does look similar! A number on the top rt. frame rail behind the wheel and a welded HOT emblem on the rear center bar above bumper! We have lost a few emblems in wrecks as well as frame rails can be replaced! Nice looking chassis! Some mid-plate designs will give you a clue or emblem! Lots of offsets though!
