Most all I ever saw on a late models was floating and levered for a purpose on one or both sides! Mods have them too when allowed! Anything to aid in turning or holding it down at those speeds! To be sure of the timing of the instant turn needed! This allows the use of a stiffer shock and less of a fast drop or hold as not to go in flat! A right side can pull it down and steer before turning it loose to roll!

If axle is not pined on one side or floated on both! The twist is still part of this chassis' set up! Pushing on the pull bar or pulling on lower link bars on one or both sides (if locked) of the 4 link needs to be addressed first! Just keep original designs in mine if changing! If on the birdcage now! A whole package of changes may be in order for brake floaters! I would contact chassis builder as to pros and cons you might have to deal with first as this can open up a new can of worms to deal with if loosing engineered movement or changing location! Glad you have a pattern and I would be changing it too but saving what I remove just in case! The reason for changing is obvious! Good luck with the switch!
