Per USRA b-mod rules, I wired in the soft touch rev control to my DUI HEI using the provided scotch lock connectors. Before wiring this in, I have never had any ignition issues whatsoever.
Ran my heat race on Friday night with no issues, engine revved up to about 7200 lap after lap. In my feature, ran two laps just fine and then issues started. When I would stand on it in the corner, it would take off as expected sometimes for one second and then shut off (just like I flipped the switch), and then pick back up for a second, and then shut off, all the way down the straight. Fuel pressure stayed constant.
It seemed like the problems only occurred over 5500-6000 rpm (running around the track at a moderate pace, it would run all night long).
Just looking for suggestions. My first thought is to get rid of the scotch locks and solder all the connections and heat shrink. I think I may have cut through one of the distributor wires, but I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
Any input is appreciated!

If it is killing the pickup coils readings it may be heating its windings to the point of touching! A friend had three bad dist. and that was the case with all three! His tach apparently had ruined them all! Test your Omhs on the pickups!

Turned out to be a sticky needle. On the track it stuck with the float closed, so my pressure stayed constant and it picked right up once the fuel got back into the bowl.
On the trailer, the engine was running great and after rewiring the entire car, we figured we had it nixed and then the engine died and fuel spewed out of the air filter. Took the needle and seat out and it was rough to move, until whatever was in there fell out and it has worked perfectly since all the way to a 4th place finish after starting 16th!

Good news and info to help others later on! We have a fine plastic screen inside our carb fitting! Holley makes some but I think them too long as our screen is Ford factory for a 79-80 variable 2brl carb! I have cut the longer ones down and used a O-ring to make them seal!
