Around here its about $100 for a chassis dyno session per hour. At that price its a great tool to find carb or ignition problems instead of at the race track.

I call a Dyno a 'systems delivery checking device'. Every team I've been with has found either power gains and or reliability. One team I was with kept blowing head gaskets. They resisted because of their Engine Builder. I finally got the car into the 'right' place and the engine problem was cured. The car went onto win 3 consecutive Titles etc with me as their Crew Chief. They still use the same engine guy but he learn't to suck eggs and stick to his job.
One other thing, the team I'm currently with used my not recommended Dyno place with their Engine Builder adjusting things as it was a fair bit cheaper. Guess what? Yep we are having delivery system problems. Dyno's, luv em with the best guys doing the listening and adjusting please.

Never had or needed a Dyno but I have upped the horses on most any afterwards with my logic and understandings of things working together! 15 drivers all with a heavy foot and a trophy is close enough testing! Would be nice to have this option!
