Hello. Has any one had issues with the rear tail shaft bushing sliding out? I had it happen and replace the seal and bushing and had the drive shaft balanced and new u-joint. I used a punch and taped on the out side to try to dimple the rear to help. Put it back together and by the end of heat race it pushed out and pushed the seal with it.

The housing or yoke may be worn! Angle changing or shaft length changing! Vent on trany stopped up could pop the seal out and then wear out the bushing! Loose in the housing more than likely from being damaged! Lock-tite may help the bushing! Screws in the seal with yellow glue! Be sure you have the fluid level correct and trany angle down hill a bit! A max of about 4 degrees at trany when in rolled position! Angles of joints should counter one another! Hike and bars steering can change a lot sometimes! Extreme j- bar angle give a lot of side movement as does a spring pull bar or pull bar indexing in some cases! Be sure your shaft ends are in time with each other before and not with the yoke too! Short bars on the left and hiking with a j-bar presents strange angle changes! You may be draining fluid away from the bushing in so doing! I have penned loose bushings with brass 1/8 rods and bradded both ends! Always be sure of clearances of yoke to bushing and lube well when installing them! Good luck finding the problem and fix! Check engine and trany mounts for flex and cracks in your housings!

Put some red Loctite on it before installing.

You did or should you? Yes if not tight and then pin it or get a new housing! It would have to be very clean and may need removing to do so! Brake cleaner may work but oil fumes persist if near by!
