ok so i bought some street stock springs for my 82 monte carlo, i race pure stock on a 3/8. got true coil street stock springs 5 x12 1000-LF 1250-RF REAR-7X14 225-LR 300-RR, they are installed, and to me looks like the car has been raised, thought this would lower it if anything. ? is is this ok, i have never raced with spring always have been stock. why does the car look taller?

you put a really heavy spring in the right rear, probably much stiffer than what a stock spring is. Also your front springs are now much stiffer than what comes stock on these cars. That is probably why your car is sitting higher now than previous.

You run a pure stock right? Do you have raised rear spring buckets? If not, I would think the 14" tall rear springs would be way to long for stock buckets. I ran 13" springs and my car had 4" raised buckets and my springs were 200 lr and 175 RR. So I had softer, shorter and raised buckets with weight jacks. And Ill throw this out there as my personal oppinion. True coil springs vacume! I found them to be very inconsistant. I run only Eibach springs. You can feel the differance. Just my .02

leaf4life i put the new ones in the exact same spot, kinda agree witht the lengths but the race tech from speedway said the 14s should be fine for my stock metric car, i dk but i sure got a raised up car looks like its about to do a wheely lol. measures 10 in. off the ground from the frame. in front.

Granted I race a 2nd gen camaro, I run a 12inch spring on front. And I would kill to have 10inchs of ride height. Mabey run 11 inch on front and go softer on rear? Racer96 spring setup is a pretty good place to start from who runs monte's out here. I raced with a guy who's running a monte and looks jacked up, it looks really unstable and he's goes backwards.

I ran 9 1/2" springs in the front. I had weight jackers also, but 10 ride height is way to much in front for a metric. I was 7 1/2 to 7 7/8 in front, but I never really payed much attention to frame ride heights, I always take measurements from the lower A arm inner mount bolt on the front of the cross member and center of the lower balljoint ball, RH side 1/4 to 1/2 higher at the balljoint than the center of the inner mount bolt and the LH side was level. Thats how I always do it. Quoting frame ride heights gets to messed up because I dont know how big the tires you are running are, and that changes things. So if you do it my way, you will always be in the ball park no matter what tire size you run.

Metric should be 5 1/2" front spring. Also 14" rear is way too long. And the stiffer needs to be on the left rear to get your cross up. You are way off everywhere. Sorry dude.
