anybody have a suggested starting point for gear ratio on 3/8 mile heavy track
I need for both 4:11 ring and 4:86 ring ... thanks

I'm running a 6.22 final at a 3/8, rpm is about 6800-7000, granted its in a street stock, tire size is 83 inch. Hope that helps a little

Depends on turn radius and banking. Modifieds on two different 3/8 mile tracks down here, use 5.67 and turn 7800-8000. Don't know about the Late Models though.

We ran a 5.75-6.00 turned upper 7's on a dry.Tracks with good bite, 6.20.

Is it possible to tell what ring gear you have without disassembly ? Guy I bought car from wont return my call ...

Yes you can get close.
Jack up car and mark tires. Mark drive shaft. Turn tire one revolution and count drive shaft turns. 6 would be 6.00, 6 1/4 would be 6:20 or 6 1/3, 6.33 etc...

I gotcha ... so put a gear set in that should be say a 6.00 with a 4:86 and see if it turns the driveshaft that .... Thanks guys ....
