I got a friend of mine I'm helping build a bomber, rules state no racing springs(wich is dumb BTW) I think it would be pretty hard to notice the difference but he insists on not "cheating". So I'm on a hunt for some gm springs from the junkyard. 5.5 front/ rear coils too. We are allowed to cut springs, what am I looking for to rob springs out of, any help is appreciated

Get some racing springs, sand blast them and leave them outside till spring, then put them in the car and tell your friend they came out of a S10 or a Cop Car or something. Tracks should not make rules they can not enforce. All the cars you run against will be on good springs/ Do the same with the shocks, or just undercoat them and roll them in the dirt,

This is very true, it's a very bad rule, you can get used racing springs cheaper than getting "stock" crap from the junkyard, I have plenty of what he's looking for, like for instance, I know a guy that bought Carrera shocks that look very stock, painted them Monroe yellow, slapped a Monroe sticker on them, no one can tell the difference! But he paid what I paid for "custom" stock mount billstiens just in paint and stickers! so what the hells the difference? Still anyone know what to look for in springs, my bud won't change his mind, trust me I tried!
