Knees hitting the back of my steering wheel

So i bought a used BMS chassis and am building it up for the new season but when i put the seat in and checked fit i found that my knees hit the back if the steering wheel. I considered moving the pedals forward, adjusting the pedal travel at the bias connection or shortening the column. Any recommendations as i don't want to make things worse.
