I have an 84alliance monte carlo factory stock that i race at lonestar speedway in kilgore texas. I was in a bad crash friday night that bent my oassenger side axle houseing on the rearend i know the rearend is a 7.5 metric rearend but i dont know what gears are in it or what i should even put in it for that matter i would like to know what a good gear would be to run just about anywhere big track ir small and still be competitive i have only raced 8 races since starting last year and i plan on traveling to as many different shows as possible to gain some more experience so a good middle gear would be nice i was kinda thinking like a 343sum gear but like i said i have no idea. Any imput will be greatly appreciated and used.

3/8 mile, high bank track?
What kind of engine and transmission are you running? Tires?

Was it running good with whatever gears you were running? Take cover off and count teeth, then let us know what it was. Ya its really hard to give you any ideas without more info like track size, engine and trans combo.

The side of the ring gear and the bottom of the pinion gear should have the ratio stamped in them. Even if it blew up, I wouldn't think the pinion mark would be gone.
