I race west coast central california, bakersfield, porterville and a couple others. I have a 79 camaro 90% built leaf rear and my cousin went and bought a 79 monte carlo coil rear and thinks we should finish the monte which is 30% built and we'll miss a race, not good for championship. Yea I totalled my 79 nova last race. My question is your opinions pro and con about the difference between coil and leaf Our rules for hobby are 7" wheel and tire, ballest weight allowed, ford 9" which we run and so on. Thanks all.

Depends on the rules I guess. You can run a 9in so that means you can play with the upper arm mounts, so score that for the Metric. If you can run Tube upper A Arms, that means I can work on the front camber gain, so score that for the Metric. You can move weight, so score that for the Metric. I would say it all depends on the front end. If I can change the upper arms and they let me get away with putting camaro spindles or big metric spindles on it, I would go with the Metric. If they wont let you touch the front end, then I would stay with the Camaro. Just my .02

I do agree with racer 96 I run a camaro and we can't mess with the front ends much, just tall BJ and such. If you have to run " out of the box" stock, camaro is the way to go. If you can mes with the front ends. Metric. The only thing I dislike about metric is the durability, you have a 9 inch wich takes care of that issue. But if you get hit pretty good just right, expect some frame machine time. I'm not saying camaros are indestructible. Thy just seemo have more durability in the long run.
