What's everyone running for a pull bar on their 4/4 mod? Going to need a new one pretty soon (just getting old and wore out) and not sure what to do. Ive had a quick car bushing bar 2 accel. 1 brake i think. Didnt like it. Afco 1 way I liked alot. Afco 2 way im running now. Before it tightened entry up too much but dont notice it as much with this car.
Heres kind of my thoughts.
Xfactor ive heard good and bad.. Bushings seem expensive and dont last long.
Afco dual shaft 1 way. Cant see where its much different than what i have now except new.
Dandy bar. Interesting look. not seen much on them.
I know BSB, RIGHT FOOT, ETC all make some. Not looking for anything super trick. Just looking for opinions on what guys run. Lately dry slick 3/8 mile.

We run the BSB 2 way bearing pull bar. No complaints has proved very strong. Have seen many other brands break at the track. I clean and lube every 10 races, so its not like I go crazy with that.

I really like the new biscut one from Speedway, I know that is what Dylan Smith is running on his car which won Supernationals.

What's the downside to running a long pull bar on a shock track with medium banking. 1/4 mile track

A long pull bar will have less angle in it and will give less instant traction, but it will hold it longer down the straight away. We run the shorter pull bar on 1/4 tracks because we want more angle, more instant traction and are not concerned about extending it down the straight away because its so short.

We noticed on our car that a long pull bar would make it have more of a tendency to want to lift the left front tire and overall front end of the car up on the gas and hard acceleration. Our new car has a shorter pull bar and it doesn't seem to have quite the forward bite the old car did, but it gets through the corner better. I would think on a short track a short bar would be quicker reacting and prefered.

Leverage from center out and location can be a push going in or shove coming off! Closer to center pulls harder on the bar but is countered by angle loss unless lowered in the front by ride height or bracket! Short bars change with ride and roll heights as well as lift under throttle and have to be judged accordingly! Most range from 18-26 degrees depending on length! Pivot points of the front in height to the rear axle can mean less angle more traction. Last year while trying to get the 4th wheel on the ground managed to lift both front instantly as location and not angle was at fault!
