What is the new rule? Is this just for bmods or for the A mods too? Thinking of racing at Lakeside which I believe is USRA rules a couple of times next year.

For B Mods not running a crate engine, I believe the a mods have to have an 8000rpm chip All Standard Engines (see Rule 16.7) must utilize a soft-touch rev control box with a 7400 RPM chip. This must be out of reach of the driver but easily accessible for inspection at all times

You can help yourself out by having the MSD Rev limiter adjusted. Most racers are not aware that the Stock Rev limiter boxes are hitting the chip 175 to 250 rpm low no matter which rpm chip you run. The testing we have done over the past 2 years, for every 100 rpm we can get back gets the racer back 1 car length further down the track over a stock box. We have been performing this adjustment for the past 4 years for all of the sanctioned series. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Rule changes never save anyone money unless your coming into that class with absolutely nothing purchased yet.
Im opinionated on this topic, but a rules change actually benefits teams that are well funded. Dyno time and testing to get the most of the new rules, and the guys building their own engines on limited budgets just can't compete with this.
If they want to change the rules, I wish they would just change the rules. But why disguise it as its saving us money? Somewhere, someone is getting paid to get this or that part an official sanctioned approval stamp to get it sold to us. =)

I never liked not using all but if degreed in properly with the right gears you will be faster holding the peak horse power and torque at it's best range! I couldn't believe 64-69 hundred could ever win so many races in 3 states.
