When I move my motor back forward for the new rules should I keep the block level or should I go off the intake I'm using?

My engine man told me to mount the motor with a 7 degree lay back, down in the rear. Have had it that way for years without any issues.

Do you go off the block or your intake when setting it?

I go off the intake. I set it at 5 Deg down in back.

Actually my intake has a 7 degree wedge on the carb mounting surface so I install the engine level on the carb mounting surface which sets the engine at a 7 degree angle.

Drive line weight is a horse power factor to consider also!
