might be a stupid question, but has anyone put their mod on and actual alignment machine i'm a mechanic at a tire shop and have my hands on our machine. so my question is if you have so, did you put regular tires on it or did you have the race tires on with all the stagger and pressure set ?

I've thought about but never did it. I would think that you would want it just like it was headed to the track. This would eleminate any variables. JMO

I have used my alignment rack many time time on my mod, and many other race cars. Set up like your going out on the track. Just make sure your rear is set where you want, since the front sets off the rear. Spoils a guy not having to use the bubble level.

I must have a good eye for angles as a 20ft. look can get me there with-in 1/2 a degree so I quit even checking as long as it looks good around the corners. Toe out seems to help the most! To what dirt specs does the book say to set these things when your in the front? So much changes in movement on the track that you have to see the big picture in motion as where it should move to rather than where it is! Angle change and length go hand in hand! I hate to be so negative when trying to be positive. Ackerman is a female species it seems! No stupid questions have I ever heard that didn't deserve a good and honest answer! My 3/4 toe out is 1=1/4 in the corner and 0 down the straights! No after market parts or moving upper mounts! Those who do, do so at tit for tat! My rear is closed until rolled over! Off-sets can be tricky from car to car and driver's choice is not always correct. Most any change affects 20 different things some pos and others neg!

yeah I know what you mean I usually have done it by eye to but last year been in a couple wrecks. and it would be nice to just to put it on the rack and see what it's going to tell me on how close I am

It has a long and fun filled life as a true fan of technology and seeing it all repeat it self in dirt cars! I do it all to get the most out of every aspect from horses to design! Any help I can give gives me pleasure as these cars are the real game to me! Most are so afraid of something bent, then we jack the car in every way we can to go left! I pride myself in seeing them win! You loose all your friends if you win too often except for the rest of the team who has been so lucky! Glad to be of help on any aspect! While the machine will tell you where it is and may-be tell where your headed, putting it into a working position of what you are checking for is key for good info! Static roll-center is a very dark forest even with night vision! Toe out in the turns is a must to keep you turning left when fully rolled! Some even use Rt. Ft. camber to aide in keeping a car rolled. I love all the camber to aide in the frame twist to give the driver control in any position on the track! A 100lb change at the Lt. rear with a simple turn!
