Just wondering if anybody out there has ever seen one of these 2 barrel mercruiser intake manifolds with the 12 bolt pattern instead of the 8 bolt vortec pattern. I was just wondering because one of the racers has one bolted on his NON vortec motor. I just cant seem to find one anywhere which is why im starting to think that you would have to re-drill some holes in a vortec one. it still makes me wonder how he makes its work since the runners are different sizes. someone help

The earliest vortec models only had center holes to re-drill and the runners fit! Even the valve covers were not center bolted on the heads! He could be running a matching set! Look at the four center bolts and their angle as to the rest!

If looking for more flow, check out the flow aspects by cooling your engine to 150 in my other post! Smaller runners speeds the flow in direction! Heat expands the fuel and it needs more room to move! Keeping it cool all the way into the cylinder and letting compression heat the fuel raises compression ratios to produce more power! There are lots of cooling tricks and I use everyone to gain horses you cant go buy! Your intake should get cold at 2500 in 2.5 minutes with engine hot if you want horses! I have seen aluminum intakes get so hot as to burn you before touching by absorbing heat if the radiator was not working correctly! Search archives too for related tips!
