A carb. has its limits as to flow and fuel, you also have a few other things to consider to get the most out of a engine! Changing fuel pressures changes float levels as does weather pressures changes flow! A higher level can be expected to flow more easily and ups the fuel! Catching some good air is not always easy but a simple little change can make it better for one race as temps change! A breather net is close to two jet sizes because of the vacuum change making it draw harder upping fuel to air ratios! Having a clean one and a dirty one or none can change fuel to air mixtures! Keeping the oil correct on a K&N is a must when running on the edge of a horse or two! A two degrees of timing change, can lean or richen your engine if needed! Changing float levels requires new parts a- lot of times and is most sensitive as to all the other options later! Designs of filter housings and foils can change the needs of fuels! Having the same fuel with or with-out top oils or octane changes are to be figured in your total mixtures! These things considered and reading the number of oily threads on number 3 plug will get you more horses every race, heat or main! I read two plugs 3 and 8 every time (to stay in the middle of the two) after it cools a bit after a few laps to see what is happening inside to make it will happen outside! This oil will be there any time and fuel will not! Engine temps and compression changes by weather (air expanding rates affecting flow) do change while on the track but the 3 on number 3 wet oily thread rule gives the margin if correct when you go out! Having a constant temp as with alcohol is the same for gas! Cooling engines down to 150 with a thermostat gives the most horses! Use every trick you can to make temps lower and stable as to reading mixtures! A top lube is best to start this Quest as a constant! Higher compression engines and there fuel requirements differ in sensitivity and paying close attention will pay off! A simple indexing or different brand of plug may require a two jet change to get all your horses or just to keep you engine from harm! After all this you can imagine the middle of the road range of which most carbs are to fit so many engine designs as well as fuels! You may tune your engine to your carb. or carb. to your engine! I prefer a higher understanding of both to get a longer and hotter burn timing to get all them horses moving in the right direction, left circles!
