Down here in the South as we share driving in some classes allowing riders also with the same safety factors in mind in roll cage designs, seats, suits , belts, nets, windshield bars and mesh, and helmets with shields! As most racing is a team effort, this allows for new blood in the gates and on the track and is more fun for all! Our younger drivers learns a little more respect for safe driving and the difference in ballast in set-ups and friendships! A bit more paper work for parents and a little more worrying but a good thing for educational purposes in life besides the streets! Just knowing how to change oil in todays world is a leg up! We have enjoyed 3 generations of great winning drivers and when Paw pa and Dad are the still the best it is a lot to live up to! No problem for the rookie on pavement or dirt! Little brother has ridden to win and can't wait for his turn to drive! I think he has it in his blood and so does he! I can only hope to last long enough to put him up front where he belongs also! Family fun for 35 years at the races!

My car was a cruiser for the last few seasons before I decided to step up to factory and is still weighed out for two riders. I still have the seat in there in case I come up light on the scales and need the extra weight lol.

Pairs should always be a rule in the starting classes! They can tell one-another how to drive and the extra weight helps pack the track when running them first! Rotation of classes can reek havoc or keep a surface packed! Narrow and heavier brings the moisture up and lighter wide tires flattens it out! Horse power slings it off or makes ruts and holes if ran to quickly in the progression of things! While the largest class should be last as to hold the fans and support the track by selling another hot dog or drink! No one class should be run last all the time while the fans are leaving or gone and some have a long way to haul to get home! BUT THATS BETTER RACING FOR ALL!!! That's just my insight after 35 years of having time and paying attention to track conditions while seeing tracks struggle and close from too much dust or upset drivers as to conditions and lack of fans and pit crews getting something to eat! Three things should be easy! Track fairness, food, cleanliness! We all know bad calls are coming in threes but never should they run out of food or close concessions before locking the gate as you need the money to run the track! Who has time to stop racing to eat or has to bring it with them to be sure? Standing in line is not worth it and having to find a place to eat after the races instead of getting home and to bed makes for longer nights and Mondays!!! A Snickers and a Coke is worth 5 bucks at the track but not 5 minutes of my time before, after, or during the racing of any class! SPEAK UP RACERS!!! Support your local tracks, tell them what you want and how to make your racing better and them more money! That they hear! Fair-ness not so much! And what up with building tracks not tuned to full time sun shine! Rain-outs after a 6 hr. haul is the pits!!!!!!!!! At least keep the sunset in mind and block it as to earlier starting times for Saturday races! Those few that do all this are still open!
