Does anyone have an opinion? Does a 5" rear spoiler on a 3200lb, 350hp, dirt street stock on 8" racing tires, on a 1/3 mile semi-banked track. Really make a difference?

Yes in deed! One way or another! When running limited mods we had a rule that allowed us to add a roof spoiler also! It turned so much air down onto the rear spoiler that the car would not pick up any speed off the corner because of the air weight it was hauling! A two inch spoiler was all it was! Some can do a lot of good and too much can slow you to a crawl! A angle change on 5 inches will get you where you need to be! Less needed if tacky and some if dry-slick! We altered ours with a removable insert on one car and our next one was made as to enable us to change angle as needed! They will tighten your entry while holding traction at greater speeds! The ribs and side panels do a good job of keeping you straight if allowed and off-sets of bends to the right on both helps with out restricting if allowed! It is not so much the down-force you want but the curl that hits you in the ass and pushes you forwards! A 2 inch can do this if your rear is closed flat but not catching air from below! A sunk-in center helps center the push if needed, on top and from behind! I always look for any advantage in speed!

Would you suggest an angle to maybe start at? I would be looking to loosen on entry on a dry slick track. As well maybe the size or length of side panels? Thanks

By the rules on side panels as large as you can! Some are mandated by spoiler height and a 30 degree depending on deck shape and slope plus distance of clean air and unrestricted rear opening! Every thing does matter, so just look at it and get rid of any air restrictions of the drivers compartment! Even the rolls around the windows! Sheet metal covers to increase flow! We made some window side deflectors on one car to divert trapped air to the sides and sucked it out the small side windows! Just use your head and look at it's flow! If tight, I will need all your info as to address this issue! Check out all my post to get a better idea of what is causing tight! Shocks, weight, springs, or ride heights! Only a hand out the window tell of the importance of flow!
