Beware the Camaro T-5 is turned 17 degrees to make room for the trans tunnel on those cars. They require a different shifter when use in street car because of this but on a race car you might be able to configure a work around with a open cockpit. The Ford version has a different bolt pattern but bells can be made or adaptors bought. The Camaro 6 cyl. version has a better 1+2 shift ratio's but has an 14 spline input shaft that requires a custom plate. Major companies can make custom clutches if you ask them. all have 1:1 fourth gear ratios. The world Class T-5 are considered stronger than than the previous model years in drag racing but for roundy rounds they are a bit heavy and the the rotating weight might put it at a disadvantage when compared to a stock three speed unless you can lathe the gears down. If you have all the parts or can fab up stuff I say go for because racing is all about doing something a little different than everyone else to find advantages.

I think the S10 bell housing is straight up , . from what I can find on parts on line, the 3spd sag. and S10 t5 use the same 10 spline clutch.
never gave the rotating mass thought.

It does sit straight up, lizardracing is right about the 14 splines. I have a S-10 t-5 sitting in my garage. I'd be running it if rules allow, it is waaay lighter than a iron saginaw. Not sure about rotating mass though, I know 5th gear could be removed with a snap ring.

Use of trany fluid helps with drag when sealed well!
