After a couple year break, I want to finally build my leaf 75 firebird. Not sure exactly which build yet, but a couple questions to help point me in the right direction.
If I chose a track that requires a stock rear subframe, what is the easiest way to either separate the body from the rear sub, or weld my rear kickers down, cell mounting etc?
Im allowed an aftermarket body, so just not sure how to do so and keep the stock rear sub.
Thanks!

Cut the floorboard along the edge of the lip on the sub-frame. Weld a piece of 11ga steel where you are installing the cage tubes. This will give the tube a good base and give you something to weld to besides sheetmetal. The 11ga plates should be at least 4"x4". The bigger, the better. It allows the loads to be spread out more. Weld all the way around the base plate trying to keep your heat on the heavier piece.
