You can only help those who listen! Most of the time not if they just don't get it and are to proud to ask again! Staying in tune with your fellow man can get more complicated than just dirt racing! Try as you may, old standards and new have to run their on race! Any can win above the other with luck! Staying there is just as hard today as it was before! They have to help their-selves or pay large amounts for an edge to win in life! Staying in tune with both makes winning easier!!! After you do it only get harder! Don't lap your friends, don't expect them to believe what you say, and take racing for all the fun it is!

Some people accuse me of mixing Alky in my gas! Who ever would come up with that idea just was wishing we had to cheat to win because they were but could not catch us! But they still talk the SMACK!!!

Wanting creates a need! Sometimes need creates a wanting with out forcing the issues at hand! Asking can't hurt much but even bad answers gives clues to getting at the true answers of dealing with factors of the un-for-seen in the quest for a correction in motion and speed! Jumping in isn't so bad once there! Need to know or a need to ask goes hand in hand! I've ask a lot!!! Go left young man, would have been better ask than said!

There are no simple adjustments! Calculated to be simple, maybe with a 50/50 chance of not affecting too many simple things in the process! Noted ills with air pressure gains or losses can cost you a win during a caution if not dealt with by the driver in cooling off or keeping the tires warm! Setting your own air with your own gauge is about as simple as it gets unless you barrow a gauge or ask someone to help! Its like changing springs, offsets, roll out, steer, and compounds in one pound of air!

My little motor won't handle a higher or lower gear! Not with out a tune make-over in the torque peak of pulling ranges! A smear of horses can move torque to peak needed points of torque if not there now! And by there I am saying used not to its fullest with out the load applied! Who is to know until loaded and tuned to fit the need! 40 points is a large jump but tires can help! Staying closer to peaks or moving them to fit the need is not a inner motor change at the cam always! Valve adjustment ,timing, jetting, fire power, geometry, and yes engine temps can make or break a good pulling range down tighter or more open to fit the load with RPMs desired!

It takes time to get a chassis dialed in! It does seem that way some-times but by experience and a lot of educated guesses as to how each thing does it's part, you can be close enough to win a few first time out! Not even hot lapping is anything like the track most cars and drivers have to run on to win! Wear and tear in hot lapping should be a engine test only unless last to go out or after heats or mains!

Some cars are females? It would seam so some-times with all the finessing they receive and some wives even get mad about the time spent with the other gal! Where to draw the line to define gender is not related to car or driver but the ability to communicate to each other! Getting your gals and components to get along together does help get you around a few curves faster at the track!

My car runs mostly off the left rear! Sure it does! Down the straights maybe or at least when hiked up trying to get more right to fall over to the right side! It takes both working through the cross in the turns and down the straights to get the job done right! More right for steer works best! Getting it there only when wanted or needed is the neg caster's job, with the help of shocks and springs in order of function!

Tucking under the right rear or letting the rear move under the car is a good thing! Nope!!! This gives way to track conditions as well as loss of control of what mother nature dishes out! Sudden or erratic handling at its best ever in overcoming air pressure or extra roll factors adding unwanted steer in search of side-bite and rolling off the left to get it! A total ill in handling of most cars with extreme j-bar angles! The fix? Just don't let it happen! Side bite can be had by just lifting the throttle when under stood! Nose and transfer shifts the load if shocks and spring preloads allow it to be so!!!

A metric car with stock rear has little steer in it! So what!!! More than most leaf springs! Coming up the ranks helped me to realize that the wheel driving the car on the rear was the best steer! Roll out can't work to help with out the right wheel pulling too! The switch from left going in to drag you left, to right to turn on the throttle and back to left getting off as the roll and track angles change keeps you hooked and all 4s planted to steer on both ends of the chassis! A 1/2 inch total is too much sometimes with only a 1/2 inch of roll out when all else is working! How much do you have or need?

A full tank of fuel slows you down! Only if not using it to an advantage as rear percent for added traction or high weight to aid in roll to steer more or to plant the right sooner and not nose so hard in the corner or to raise the front more to get more air and be lighter under throttle! Or just to burn down to the happy point for the last two laps to pass 4 cars and win if mounted correctly! More fuel fore-thought helps!

You can out run money! Well it does help if technology is not your educated means of getting there! Some miss understood things of today still leaves the door open for simple logic to over-come in the marketing of things of value! A diamond is a rock sparking in some eyes and a GEOMETRIC FIGURE to others! What kind of figures do you watch best! I do like torque curves myself, and a few others that puts motion in progress faster than money can talk!

Your piston knows the difference in compression! Early pressure of compression builds heat! Earlier firing builds heat also with out the drag of compression! Controlling the burn timing and length and speed of push is more horses and torque! How much of your stroke are you using correctly? Do you really think the piston would even care except for the knot you placed on its head??? No room up there for enough fuel to multiply to find out either! Some ideas in stock engines are just miss understood in two respects, mileage and power! The piston doesn't really care, its just along for the ride and your driving!

You can lead a horse to drink more fuel but you can't let him drive you off the corner! Torque is a strange but touchy thing to hook with more or less gear off the corner or sliding up the track but more fuel and less timing for a few seconds gets it done! It isn't all in the shoes but the hooves of timing the burn when its nailed!!!

I have the perfect gear in my car!--- This week, race or track and with out changing the motor to match up when changed also who would know! Having different motors as well as running a 9 inch ford in the old days kept you busy and a Doug Nash 2-Quick With gear sets gave a few fine tuning points or just shift for more or less! Load change requires tune and tune requires load change and you get faster as you go! Having only to shift from heats or race starts to cruse in the mains was a 500-800 rpm change of the lever!
