Dirt car racing is the most fun! Yep, but most consuming in other things while in the process of winning! A lot of time invested in fun and group fun at that! Always new and exciting to meet new people and race new tracks! Always learning in the process to improve!

Scuffing rather than inspection of tires is best! Well--- Both may help but even NASCAR cars would rather run tires worn to fit the track for added grip! Soft rubber gets traction by giving to the track and nothing like a new pair of shoes for grip if more is needed from lack of paying attention to what wear is telling you about what is needed to improve grip!

Doing things backwards doesn't work! Well sometimes it does or at best tells you to go the other way! Reverse engineering things helps you get to what you need to know in most cases! Having less ills to deal with, backwards or not to what you previously thought was the only way to make it work! I have found that being wrong is best in all respects if still paying attention to yourself and your own car only! Others will always differ by design! Including me!!!

A slight change may help! YEP!!! So why stop there! Us change it all week to week, track to track and get it right or at least better than it was last week! They are soft and fuzzy little changes that multiply like bunnies but even in cages the (Sh$T) piles up! Drivers change, tracks change, air even inside the tires change!!! Why change the car??? Just drive better this week or have better luck! Any change made to our car would be getting it out of this range or that tracks need to happen! Not perfect by no means but I know of no change without ills of more changes forth-coming and tracks has nothing to do with them! YET!!!--- Thus the wide range set-up to fit the build!

If only my car could talk!--- It does! Are you looking at your engine or listening to your tires? Is it so noisy in your bars that the smoke and fumes have clouded your perception of its sign language of wear and movement patterns of the screams for attention in its vocal expression? Is it lost in translation??? A little one to one may work best in the study of sign language! If my wife stairs at me, it means more than if spoken after 34 years of going to the shop to work on cars! Some listen better than speaking! You know I am talking about the cars now!!!! How??? , I've been racing longer than married, if you've been paying attention to details! Get in the habit of knowing your cars expressions of choice! Mine always likes attention but wants no change, just dollars and plenty of checks! It's up to us to use all our wits and spare change if flat or needed!

You are never to old to help! --- Well some may think so but a 3rd win in five races with a second and third from the rear is new evidence of people with open minds in racing old school this week!

These new parts are faster!--- Well you would say so! Others might hope so but I should know so, RIGHT!!! Its not that easy as some trade tit for tat and come with 2 prices! Cost and then change to refine the good points in order to keep face in trying to move forward and not wanting to go back! Smaller but more effi. has little usage in the racing world other than weight and wait and see! Up tuning seems a bit harder than detuning to win!!!

Its just a spring change, I reset the ride heights--- YEAH THATS RIGHT!!! If one adjustment changes 20-30 things , how many more good things are adjusted in a spring change??? I WONDER?

Don't tell the driver, but I adjusted his problem! --Some times a must but attitude helps in compensating for winning set-ups! Tweaked your driver the wrong way lately!

Some peoples caster is different!---- Yep! Mine leans one way by going the other! Negative to caster is a given positive! This confuses me also but my ball joints are in the right place! You may have noticed!

You need to loose left rear in order to turn a tight car! --NOPE!!!--- This ain't happening in my world! The tighter the better on all fours! Never lower your left! Just add a right hook! Turn on a dime and go quickly away as not to be hit from behind by your best friend with little left to lose!

You need to go softer to get it to roll!--- Or stronger on the left or tip it more or add steer or have less cross or less left weight! It doesn't have to roll!!! Just steer and transfer!!! Roll requires one going up as the other goes down! Staying level to the track works for me! The track goes up and down in the turn so you don't have to! Lean maybe, roll no!

Would you help me change my-----Stop right there!---- I don't wear any and not about to change now!!! I don't want change! I want natural in what works best! Not that I don't use them, but the wrenches have to be somewhere and clean is best! One little change and the old woman takes over in the natural world where she rains supreme in PHYSICS!!! Neutralize is the best change and weight for her next move! Mother Nature has to be tricked into getting her on way sometimes!

I just have one question for you!--- sure you do--- I wish I only had one answer! It doesn't happen that way often enough for most of us if talking about a race car! Most things are just not simple any more! Example--- Honey, does this tire on my side of the car needs more air! Complicated at any answer! Should I even try?--- Well what do you think!---Wait makes all the difference in answers concerning weight in cars and life! Still trying to ask and answer as best I can! We can put more into it if needed----And just what do you mean by that---Wait until you get in and we go around a left handed curve an then and only then can I tell you!!! Just check the tires! Yep!!! Is your mother going too! No simple answers any more on or off the track!!!!!!! Should we take the truck?

My car just needs a little more tweaking! ---How much is one of those critters in getting it closer? It depends on location and reactions in rounds turned or pounds changed, or the amount of transfer lost or gained in those 20-30 things tweaked in the (correct direction) by this one little thing! The fact that so much changed that all factors of the existing set up has to be reset or calculated to address usage of tweaking! A 1/2 pound of air may need a shock or off-set change to be useful at all in keeping up with standards of control by the existing chassis and set-up! The domino effect by the spacer or shock to transfer energy and angles changing get mind blowing on just one set-up you try to be familiar with! The big picture boils down to geometry or just good ole common sense in tweaking! Look at a bigger picture and all the what ifs!
